"Order in the Eye of the Beholder plays out like a cross between a video game and the Rorschach test... What we make of this seemingly random order indicates our individual personalities and our unique ways of projecting meaning onto our experiences... [McGuire] is a lusciously multi-dimensional mover, managing to be in a constant state of asymmetry as she shifts on and off her center of gravity moment by moment. The effect is like smoke rising from a candle."

INTERVIEW:
“Belinda McGuire: Choose Your Own Adventure”
-Veronica Posth, Fjord Review (05-10-21)
"…genuinely innovative …as languidly sensual as it is sharply inquisitive …This is its triumph. But there’s more to it than that …the irrepressible creative impulse behind this project, which artfully circumvents the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, breathing new life into a challenged art form."
-Deirdre Kelly, The Dance Current (04-13-21)

“It is fantastic in so many ways”

“It was a delight to go through this experience, especially in these times. Belinda plays the part of Ariadne, bringing us to and through a labyrinth.I found the dancing breathtaking, constrained and wild at the same time. I was captivated by the vulnerability in the performance and the arc(s) of the story. I attended several times, and the feeling that came to mind was diving off a cliff. I wanted to do it again and again. As a software engineer, I couldn't help but reflect on the technological aspects of the performance. The set in some of the scenes seems to represent the journey -- strings connecting columns, serving as metaphors for links connecting scenes. This is groundbreaking work, stimulating at physical, emotional, and intellectual levels. I am grateful for having had the chance to, quite literally, play a part in the performance.”

“Sometimes it’s a snack, sometimes it’s a meal, sometimes it’s a more than you can ever eat buffet. Tantalizing.”

“I was disappointed after my first view, but still curious, so I went in again, and again and then I was addicted.”
