DANCERS
I am looking for 5 dancers (who regardless of sex are female-presenting) to fill some very very slow-moving yet important roles in a new (mostly duet) work I will be creating and filming in Paris during my two-week residency at The American Center for Art and Culture in November. I would rehearse and film this 20-minute-long section of the piece November 24-26. Total time requirement would be no less than 8, and no more than 20 hours, unless I get an influx of funding! Regardless, pay is $30/hour USD. Rehearsal and filming times would take place in the afternoons/early evenings (flexibility with schedule details is necessary due to the parameters and ambitions of this endeavor, hence the broad outline here).
For reference, this is approximately what you’ll wear (costumes by the incredible Katharine Mallinson):

VOLUNTEER TYPE #1
I am also looking for 5 dancer volunteers who would be interested and available between November 15th-23rd (no need to be free that whole period) to help me workshop/try the ideas that we will ultimately film. We would work in rehearsal clothes (no costume), likely for 1-3 hours at a time, and would probably set the specific hours a day or few in advance.
VOLUNTEER TYPE #2
I am also looking for volunteers to be a set of additional hands during the filming of the rest of the work on November 27th and 28th. We will be filming in the afternoons/evenings. I don’t yet know what specific help will be required (likely assistance positioning lights, flipping switches of lights/sound/fans at specific points in the piece, nothing that requires brute force or particular skill, the kind of thing I’d do myself if I wasn’t already busy dancing), but I feel that an additional bit of person power would be really nice.
Interested and available people for any of the above roles, or if you have questions about anything, please contact me at belindamcguire@belindamcguire.org.
